Frequently Asked Questions

Is there really no contract?

Correct. Every Team Up Telecom plan is month-to-month. You stay with us because the service works and the bill is fair — not because you signed a three-year lockup. If you ever need to leave, you can, without penalty.

How can you include phones for free?

We provide modern IP desk phones at no upfront cost as part of your monthly plan. You get a business-grade phone shipped pre-configured — plug in the ethernet cable and it's ready to make calls. If a phone breaks or wears out, we replace it.

What do I need to get started?

Just an internet connection. We recommend a business-grade cable, fiber, or fixed wireless circuit with at least 100 kbps up and down per concurrent call (most plans with 3+ users do fine on any 10 Mbps+ connection). We'll audit your network during onboarding and flag anything that needs adjustment before you cut over.

Can I keep my existing phone number?

Yes. Number porting is included and handled by us. We submit the paperwork to your current carrier, coordinate the cutover date, and test everything on a parallel line so there's no downtime when we flip the switch. Most ports complete in 7–14 business days.

Will my phones work if the internet goes down?

When your internet is down, calls automatically fail over to a backup destination you choose — typically a cell phone or a second office location. You never miss a call because of an ISP outage. For higher availability, we can also configure a second internet connection for automatic failover.

Do you support remote and hybrid teams?

That's one of the biggest reasons clients switch to us. Our mobile app gives every user their business line on their phone — answer, dial, text, and check voicemail from anywhere. The desktop softphone does the same thing on laptops. Calls route to whichever device is active, and voicemail is shared across all of them.

Can I send text messages from my business number?

Yes. Business SMS is included on every UC plan. You can text customers from your main business line (not your personal cell) through the desktop app, mobile app, or web console. Group messaging, shared inboxes, and MMS are all supported.

What about fax?

eFax is included. Send and receive faxes as PDFs through the web portal or via email — no fax machine, no dedicated fax line, no paper. HIPAA-compliant and ready for medical or legal use.

Can your phones replace a full contact center?

Yes. Our contact center tier adds skills-based routing, IVR menus, queue management, call recording, real-time supervisor dashboards, and live analytics. It's the same technology large enterprise call centers use, priced for teams of 3 to 50 agents.

Does it integrate with my CRM?

Almost certainly. We integrate with 400+ platforms including Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Zendesk, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and most industry-specific tools. Standard integrations include click-to-dial, automatic call logging, screen pops with caller history, and two-way contact sync. Custom integrations are available via our open API.

What if I already have a phone system I like?

Keep it. Our SIP trunking service connects to any standards-compliant PBX (Asterisk, FreePBX, 3CX, Cisco, etc.) and replaces your carrier with lower per-minute rates, nationwide DID coverage, and better call quality. You keep your existing hardware, menus, and routing rules — we just replace the dial tone underneath.

What kind of support do you offer?

Real humans in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. When you call, you reach someone who knows your account — not a tier-1 script reader in another country. Business-hours support is included, and we offer 24/7 emergency coverage for critical issues. Our average first-response time is under 10 minutes during business hours.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on seat count and features, but most small businesses land between $20–$40 per user per month for full unified communications, including phones. We'll give you an exact quote during your free consultation — no surprises, no hidden fees, no marketing games. Schedule a call and we'll walk through it with you.
